About VoiceSpark

VoiceSpark is a web-based voice capture tool designed specifically for learners, students, and creators who want to capture ideas without interrupting their flow.

Perfect For

How VoiceSpark is Different

Unlike traditional voice recorders (like Apple Voice Memos, Otter.ai, or Rev), VoiceSpark uses an "always listening" approach:

Traditional Voice Recorders:

Want to record → Open app → Find button → Click "Record" → Start speaking

VoiceSpark:

Open once → Speak anytime → Click "Transcribe" when ready

Key Differences:

Use Cases

For Students & Learners

Taking notes from Khan Academy, Coursera, or YouTube tutorials without pausing the video. Enable "System Audio" to capture both the instructor's words and your spoken notes simultaneously.

For Podcast Fans

Capturing key quotes from The Tim Ferriss Show, Lex Fridman Podcast, or any podcast. Play your podcast in one tab, open VoiceSpark in another, and speak to save insights.

For Content Creators

Recording ideas for YouTube videos, blog articles, or projects as they come. Keep VoiceSpark open while brainstorming, and all your thoughts are automatically captured.

For Knowledge Workers

Quick voice memos during research, reading, or watching webinars. Perfect for those "aha moments" that need to be captured instantly.

Technical Details

AI Transcription

VoiceSpark uses industry-leading AI transcription services including OpenAI Whisper and GPT-4 to convert your voice to text in seconds with high accuracy across 50+ languages.

Privacy First

All recordings are stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. Audio is only sent to transcription APIs when you click "Transcribe," and is immediately deleted after transcription. We never store your recordings on our servers.

Why "Always Listening"?

The best ideas often come at unexpected moments - while watching a video, listening to a podcast, or during a conversation. Traditional voice recorders make you go through a "getting ready" ritual:

VoiceSpark eliminates this friction. Just keep it open. When inspiration strikes, switch back and click "Transcribe" - your voice from the last 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 5 minutes is already captured.

Who Built VoiceSpark?

VoiceSpark was created by an independent developer frustrated with losing brilliant ideas while watching YouTube tutorials. Built with modern web technologies and AI transcription APIs, it's designed to be the simplest, most frictionless way to capture spoken thoughts.
